Sheila! Alex! Beth! Jackie!

Just a super quick post to say "HI!" and to let you know that I did not fall completely off the earth, all signs to the contrary. It's just that - gulp - I have a job now where there's NOOOO INTERNET ACCESSSSSSS! Shocking, right? I mean, we have copiers, not mimeographs. We have push-button phones. We have electric hole punches. You'd think we would have internet access! But there's a big lawsuit against the agency and the judge ordered the entire agency off-line until the case is resolved, which may mean YEARS. Just try conducting business without email, folks, and you'll understand how hobbled it feels. Also, I need me some Sheila and Alex every day, long about lunchtime or so, and I'm experiencing bloggus interruptus. And I'm completely out of touch with the goings-on in the world. By the time I get home, I'm too pooped to get online, so it's been pretty much nada for me these last two months. Sheesh!

Here's the very quick update:

(1) LOVE LOVE LOVE my new job and new boss and new co-workers. A+++!

(2) Just signed a lease to move into my own apartment after almost two years here with my best friend Ande and her menagerie. The apartment is a much-needed fledgling move on my part, freedom and independence and all that, but I will sure miss Ande and the girls. However, the apartment itself it tiny but cute and has a stunning mountain view, the apartment complex is beautifully landscaped, much closer to work, and my commute is a lovely meandering tree-shaded drive. Best of all, there's a gorgeous olympic-size pool, heated all year around, just a short dash from my apartment. I'm a swimmin' fool, case you didn't know, and I've been looking for an opportunity to exercise more, so hip hip hooray! I move in TWO days.

(3) Still hovering about 30 pounds up from this time last year, but with a net loss of 90 from 18 months ago, so . . . it ain't exactly terrible, but I wanna start eating right again and drop another brickload of bulge. The swimmin' will definitely help - it's difficult to eat while swimmin' (although of course I've managed it). I think I'll be better able to stick to a food plan when I'm alone anyway. Cook my meals, etc. Plus my new commute is fast-food-free, a terribly important thing for compulsive Stevie!

(4) My cat BG is gonna be so happy to be back in the prime position with me and only me! He's spent the last two years running, hiding from and hissing at Ande's dogs.

(5) Found a KILLER sofa on Craig's List - truly, it's a doozy - yes, that's it up there! Leather on the arms and bottom, a luxe silky tapestry on the oversize seat and back cushions. It's sooooooo comfortable. The picture looks a lot more formal than it really is - it's a great big sink-in type of sofa, super welcoming despite the hoity toity footsies. From Bernhardt (fancy schmancy designer studio, two-page ads in Architectural Digest, nome sang). Probably a $2500 sofa, less than a year old, perfect condition. and I got it for CHEAP! The couple bought TWO of them and there's only really room for one in their den, doncha know, so . . . . I love Craig's List. Now I'm on the hunt for a coffee table. And lamps. And maybe a dining room table . . . . .

(6) I saw Alex on TV!!! On Grey's Anatomy. She was FAAAB-u-lous!!! I've never seen Alex "in person" - I only know her from reading her great blog and I've listened to her hilarious ringtones. But I actually SAW Alex, and it was thrilling. That's all there is to it. Thrilling. I suppose I'll drop over dead if I ever see Sheila on the stage or something! I love you ladies, you know. Even if I've been incommunicado.

(7) I'm itching to post my amazing Gerald Ford story - and will do so in a month, which is when I'll finally be hooked up to the cable! Can you believe I have to wait a month for an appointment? What gives here?

(8) Dassit. Just wanna send my love to you delicious, delightful, magnificent cyberladyfriends. MWWWAH!!! XOXOXOXO
